20 November, late Friday night The Hauge, Netherlands Police opened fire on protesters in demonstrating in downtown of Rotterdam against COVID-19 restrictions. The Dutch city’s mayor titled it “an orgy of violence.”
After being hit by bullets, two rioters were hospitalized and investigations were underway to found if they were actually shot by the Netherlands police. The condition of the injured demonstrators was not disclosed. Police said.
Police said that, 51 people were arrested and half of them are minors. Due to a leg injury, one police officer was hospitalized and another got treatment from the ambulance staff. Many of have some minor injuries as well.
“On a number of occasions as rioters ran rampage through the port city’s central shopping district. Netherlands Police felt it necessary to draw their weapons to defend themselves. They have setting fires and throwing rocks and fireworks at officers”. Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb told reporters.
