The North American leg of Celine Dion’s Courage international tour has been canceled.
The 53-year-old singer, who is reportedly suffering from “severe and continuous muscle spasms,” had planned to tour the United States in promotion of her 12th English-language studio album beginning in April 2021, but she postponed the tour as she recovers from her health problems.
Celine Dion stated in a statement on her official website: “I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing. There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.”
The My Heart Will Go On singer went on to say that she would be “glad” to get back to full health and thanked her fans for their “words of encouragement” after the tour was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She had performed 52 dates on the tour across America before it was halted due to the pandemic.
She continued, “I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can’t wait to be back on stage again. Meanwhile, I’ve been very touched by all the words of encouragement that everyone’s been sending to me on social media. I feel your love and support and it means the world to me.”
Celine Dion’s world tour is still set to kick off in Birmingham on May 25, 2022, before moving on to Manchester’s AO Arena and London’s O2 Arena.
Claudette, her sister, spoke to the French magazine Voici and said: “It really is a sad what’s happening to her. But it’s not a major issue. When Celine has a problem, she always confides in me and seeks my counsel. I’m sure she’s in a nice mood.”
In the midst of her personal difficulty, Celine posted on Instagram, “It’s very vital to keep a spotlight on our mental health.” “Kindness to oneself and others is essential. Keep in mind that you are not alone. If you require assistance, it is available. Celine.”
Celine Dion’s sons will be there for her when she recovers. Celine has three sons, the oldest of whom, Renee Charles-Angelil, has made no mention of his mother’s health, while her twins are considered to be too young to have public social media accounts.
