A stunning discovery has been made in the Netherlands as a secret collection of over 230 barn find cars, including rare Ferraris, Alpines, Mercs, and BMWs, has been revealed.

These remarkable automobiles, amassed over a span of 40 years by a secretive Dutch collector, were found in three previously undisclosed barns. The collection, known as the “Palmen Barn find cars Collection,” is now being made available for sale.

Gallery Aaldering recently uncovered this treasure trove, which showcases an array of classic cars such as Ferraris, Lancias, Facel Vegas, Alpines, Fords, Tatras, BMWs, Mercedes, Lincolns, and many others. The collector, Mr. Palmen, had a passion for vintage cars and dedicated years to assembling this impressive assortment.

Mr. Palmen was known for his love of privacy and had kept his collection hidden from the public eye, even keeping it a secret from his neighbors. Despite numerous inquiries, few people were aware of the existence of this extraordinary collection.

Over time, the collection grew to such an extent that it needed three separate buildings to house it: two warehouses and even a church. However, now that Gallery Aaldering has acquired the entire collection, the cars have been consolidated into a single warehouse located in Dordrecht near Rotterdam. Actually, due to the age of Mr. Palmen and various circumstances, the collection was sold to the Aaldering.

While browsing through the videos and photos, one can appreciate the sheer density of the collection, making it challenging to keep track of every vehicle. However, a comprehensive list of the cars can be found on the Classic Car Auctions website, where collectors will undoubtedly be thrilled by the diverse range of vehicles.

Mr. Palmen’s preference leaned towards Italian cars, such as Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, and Ferrari. Additionally, the collection boasts French Facel Vegas, German BMWs, Mercedes, and NSUs, along with British classics like Jaguars, Aston Martins, and Rolls-Royces. American automobiles are also represented with Chevrolets, Cadillacs, and Fords, while the collection further includes Tatra, Monica, Moretti, Matra, Alvis, Imperia, and Villard.

Although the vehicles bear the signs of their barn find origins and require restoration, Classic Car Auctions and Gallery Aaldering assure potential buyers that they are in good condition. Mr. Palmen diligently maintained the collection himself, regularly starting the engines to prevent them from seizing. While some effort will be needed to refresh the majority of the vehicles, their potential is undeniable.

If you were captivated by any of the cars within this extraordinary collection, you could have participated in the Palmen Barnfind auction, which commenced with online bidding on May 19. Viewing days were held on May 27, 28, and 29, and the auction concluded in three waves, on June 5, 6, and 7.

We hope that the new barn find cars owners would cherish the collection as much as he did. It seemed unlikely that anyone would ever see a collection of this caliber and condition again in their lifetime.
